The second full-length project from Australian wunderkind JR/KS, and the second contribution to the Junk Maker family, having previously worked on the JMS001&006 as JR/CH in collaboration with Princess Commodore 64. Junk Maker Sounds is proud to welcome back JR/KS with "Familiarity, Contempt and Money For the Rent," an hour-long lo-fi plunderphonics exploration that sets JR/KS up in the same company as fellow Aussies in The Avalanches circa "Since I Left You."

The album plays as one long continuous track that has been divided up into individual songs for the sake of listening convenience.

"Familiarity, Contempt and Money For the Rent is the second full-length release from JR/KS, who previously released DREAMS//WISHES on Goodnight Tapes back in December 2016. This work is a single hour-long composition of classic-style vaporwave that has been split into twenty-eight different tracks to facilitate listening. The album strongly uses plunderphonics/sample curation in taking individual bits outside of their original context and juxtaposing them with one another to create a new conceptual piece. There are several bits of ambient music and drone (e.g. “Machine 2”), although most of the release samples from muzak and pop media."

I really didn’t care for this album. Again it was filled with R&B slow jams, but there’s two tracks that I loved! Those two tracks are “Your Eyes” and “Lilith”. Exceptional and dreamy. Dionysus Virus
